Brian D. Downing, P.E.
President, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Downing’s technical background spans nearly 30 years. His technical knowledge, management ability, work ethic, and concern for his clients have enabled him as President and CEO of Delta Systems Engineering, formerly known as DL Engineering & Controls, to offer a wide range of high quality engineering services. He is highly skilled in the design of process control systems, SCADA, telemetry, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control systems, and motor control systems. His managerial skills include managing multiple departments, projects, engineering and programming staff.
Mr. Downing has worked in the consulting engineering industry since 1992. He has served as a Project Manager and lead electrical design engineer on a wide variety of projects throughout the southwestern United States, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Arizona, California, Colorado and Nevada. He learned about water and wastewater process control systems as a Senior Instrument Technician for the City of Glendale, Arizona. His intimate knowledge of water and wastewater instrumentation and control systems has earned him the recognition as one of the leading designers of control systems in the State.
A veteran of the armed forces, Mr. Downing served nearly 5 years in the United States Air Force as an F-111 aircraft avionics technician. Following his honorable discharge from military service, he worked as a field service engineer on the B-52 and F-15 aircraft simulators for CAE-Link, at Minot AFB, North Dakota, and Luke AFB in Arizona.
